In an effort to help our members grow as leaders, GWIB introduced a leadership 101 series this past spring.  Each month our members meet to review pertinent leadership topics. 

Past leadership 101 series workshops include:

• Negotiation Skills Workshop: Members reviewed best practices for negotiating and discussed differences in how men and women negotiate.
• Working "War Stories": Members reviewed their greatest working challenges.  As a group, we brainstormed resolutions to these challenges.
• Communication Styles and the Gender Divide: Members discussed how men and women communicate differently.  The goal of this session was to review these differences and discuss ways that both men and women can flex their style to ease communication. This workshop was highly engaging.  There were several "ah-ha" moments as participants realized how the opposite sex interpreted their words.
• Communication & Learning Styles: This workshop focused on differences between visual, auditory and kinetic learners.  Workshop participants took a quiz that revealed their own earning/communication style.

This series was coordinated in partnership with Georgetown MBA Career Management.  GWIB plans on continuing this series next year.
